5-2 Monitoring Modem Performance LRS-24 RADview/TDM

Setting Automatic Periodic Polling

You can set automatic periodic polling.

 To toggle LRS-24 Polling:

1. In the LRS-24 View window, select the system by clicking inside the LRS-24

hub without selecting a device. Ensure that no border surrounds any of the

modem cards.

2. Right click and select Options > Polling. A checkmark (to the left of the Polling

entry) indicates that (periodic) polling is On

3. Select or clear the Polling check box, to toggle periodic polling (On or Off).

When Polling is On, the NMS polls the LRS-24 agent every 60 seconds. When

Polling is Off, polling is not automated. To initiate polling, you can do any of the

above steps (such as selecting the abovementioned Polling check box or click the

Polling button

5.2 Monitoring Modem Performance

RADview/TDM enables you to monitor modem performance in the Zoom view

including:

• Viewing and running modem diagnostics tests

• Viewing statistics

 Viewing interval (HDSL) statistics

 Viewing line statistics

 Viewing DTE (1) statistics

 Viewing performance statistics

• Resetting statistics.

Running and Viewing Diagnostics Tests

The Diagnostics menu enables you to evaluate and monitor LRS-24 data transfer

performance. RADview’s diagnostic functions enable you to:

• Display the current tests being run on the selected modem

• Stop the current tests being run on the selected modem

• Initiate a new test to be run on the selected modem

• Set the polling interval on the modem (BERT tests only).
