Chapter 6
Fault Management
This chapter discusses how to manage faults for the LRS-24 system, cards, and
modems using RADview/TDM.
Managing faults includes the following tasks:
• Managing system alarms
Updating system installation registry
Masking and listing alarm traps.
• Managing card alarms
• Managing modem alarms
Viewing active modem alarms
Masking modem traps.
6.1 Managing System Alarms
RADview allows you to filter system alarms. Managing system alarms includes the
following tasks:
Updating system installation registry
Masking and listing alarms.

You can specify the connectivity of far-end modems to prevent generating alarm
messages from disconnected modems. See

.
Masking and Listing Alarm Traps
You can mask the alarm traps by either masking or listing the modems.
Masking Alarm Traps
In RADview you can choose to mask alarm traps, per selected slot. However, the
“masking” functionality masks only the traps related to the selected alarm.
Masking system alarm traps (i.e. all alarms of the entire slot) prevents the
sending of alarm traps for this slot.
