Chapter 4
Configuring a Typical
Application
This chapter provides instructions for configuring LRS-24 for typical applications
in which HDSL and SHDSL modem cards installed in the LRS-24 chassis operate
opposite similar standalone devices.
Configuring HDSL/SHDSL applications includes the following tasks:
• Preliminary LRS-24 configuration
• Entering IP address of RADview management station
• Masking/unmasking remote traps
• Configuring SMOD (HTU-E1C and HTU-2) and IMOD (ASMi-52) cards via
RADview
• Configuring the clock mode of SMOD/IMOD modem cards
• Configuring (xDSL) system/line parameters
• Configuring HTU-2 or E1 parameters
• Connecting the DTEs to the SMOD/IMOD modems.
4.1 HDSL Applications
Figure 4-1
illustrates a typical HDSL application, where an HTU-E1C card operates
opposite a standalone HTU-2 modem.
