Automatic Configuration Upload 4-45
4.7 Automatic Configuration Upload
Overview
The Automatic Configuration Upload (ACU) application automatically, and
periodically, backs up the Configuration of a predefined list of RAD devices (such
as ATM, and TDMoIP products). It is based on Client/Server architecture.
This application can be used for:
• ACE-101
• ACE-50
• ACE-202
• ACE-2002
The Configuration of the device is defined in special Configuration and User files
(located on the device) and can be uploaded to the computer disk by
TFTP protocol. The ACU application only requests the device’s Agent to open an
Upload TFTP session.
Server
The Automatic Configuration update is performed in the following way: for every
RAD device (agent) in the list, the ACU Server sends a request to start Trivial File
Transmit Protocol (TFTP) to save the Configuration and User files on the computer
disk. The RAD device (Agent) is responsible for the TFTP session; the ACU Server
only sends a request to the Agent to start a TFTP session. The result
(success/failure) for every TFTP session is determined by the SNMP trap that was
received from the Agent, or by timeout (where result = failure).
Client
The ACU Client is a graphical application that allows you to view and configure
parameters of the Server, and perform an Upload session immediately according
to predefined parameters. An Upload session is a set of all TFTP Upload sessions
for every Agent in the list. After the Upload session you can display results for
Upload sessions that were completed (Reports). In the Reports, you can choose
the number of sessions to be displayed.
The Client can configure the following Server parameters:
• Date and Time to start the Upload
• Time interval to perform the Upload sessions
• Directory and File name to save the uploaded files
• Setting TFTP parameters
• Adding/Removing nodes to the agent list.
Any number of Client applications can be opened simultaneously.
Uploads will take place if the Server is running, even if the Client is closed.
