3.6 Creating a Connection

You can add, remove or reassign connections between two WAN agents. Each

agent can connect to one or more units, but each port can only contain one

connection. Assign logical channel names for interagent connections so that the

appropriate network map appears with the appropriate network segments and

channel attachments. Assign link names so that each channel is easily identified in

the map window.



To add a connection:

1. From the Edit menu, select Add Connection.

A palette of connection type samples appears in the Add Connection

dialog box (see Figure 3-8).

2. Select <Yes> in the Display Label field.

3. Enter the label that should appear on the map and click <OK>.

The Add Connection dialog box appears (see Figure 3-9).

4. Define the slots and ports that connect the two WAN agents and click <Set>.

The connection now appears on the map.

To prevent the label from displaying on the map, select No in the Display Label field.
